Help the DNR with Environmental Research in Minnesota

Originally published July 29, 2019

Looking for an opportunity to help with some environmental research this weekend? Know of a spring on your property or spot one while hiking in the woods? The Minnesota DNR wants to know about it! They have a reporting app that allows you to contribute to the Minnesota Spring Inventory! Just download the app, follow the reporting guidelines, and you too can help contribute to our knowledge of the Minnesota landscape!

Springs aren’t your thing? Why not help report black bear sightings to better understand their territory expansion? Or how about protecting native plants and wildlife in Minnesota by reporting invasive species?

This type of information is vital to protecting and preserving the beauty of our state. And the best part is it can be done by anyone, anywhere, at any time! So keep an eye out on your next visit to the lake, forest, or in your backyard and see if you can help the MN-DNR learn more about the nooks and crannies of Minnesota!
